BOO! Panels

BOO! Panels
BOO! PANELS

[HOW DO THESE PANEL THINGS WORK?]

Panels are images that are printed onto spandex in the same way as any other spandex print and are on swimwear suitable fabric.  You can use them on whatever you like, whether it be a BOO! pattern or a non-BOO! pattern.

Panels come in 2 sizes small and large and you can find information on pricing and primary uses for each below.  The pricing is in AUD and is subject to change at anytime.
(Overseas buyers who are purchasing will see an AUD price on the website exclusive of taxes which is why it will be slightly different to what is stated here).

SMALL PANELS 45cm x 35cm approx
1 x panel = $9.50
4 x panels = $29 ($7.25 each)
Primary Uses: Skater dress bodice, panel inserted into leggings, pieced swimmers

LARGE PANELS 60cm x 47cm approx
1 x panel = $12.50
3 x panels = $29 ($9.67 each)
Primary Uses: Rashies, one-piece swimmers, tankini, panel inserted into spandex skater skirt or skirt of skater dress, leggings

[MANIPULATING YOUR PANEL]

I have kept the panel size to a minimum to ensure that the pricing can be kept low, this can sometimes mean that the panel may not be big enough for your project.   It doesn’t matter, you can still use it, you just have to be a little more creative with how you apply it!

There are useful tips in the skater dress pattern for creating a pieced bodice that can be very useful when working with panels.   Here is an example of how to get a panel to best work with your skater dress if you are finding the shoulders don’t fit on the panel.

1. Shoulders exceed the panel a little.
2. Remove seam allowance from shoulder (1/4″ / 0.7cm).
3. Tape front and back pattern piece at shoulder and then mark out a new ‘seam’ on front pattern piece.
4. Cut along new seam line and add seam allowance to front and and back pattern pieces.
5. Cut panel using new front pattern piece.
6. Finished look….

Here is a size 3 example of what you need to make a rashie.
